# Reachable Bitcoin nodes by country — Bitcoin Years open data

Reachable Bitcoin nodes as seen by the BTC Nodes crawler, placed approximately by IP address (DB-IP Lite) and counted by country, with a daily history. No node address is published; countries with fewer than 5 nodes show only their count.

## Licence

**Licence status: pending.**

- Node data: BTC Nodes (https://btcnodes.io), an independent rebuild of Bitnodes. Its terms of service (https://btcnodes.io/tos) do not state a data licence. Bitcoin Years has asked the operator for written permission to publish these aggregated statistics. Until this is confirmed, no licence is granted here for the underlying node data.
- Bitcoin Years' own contribution (assigning nodes to countries, aggregation, daily history, monthly summaries) is intended to be released under CC BY 4.0 (https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/) once the upstream permission is confirmed.
- IP Geolocation by DB-IP (https://db-ip.com), CC BY 4.0. Changes: node IP addresses were looked up, then only country counts were kept; no address or per-node location is published.
- Population: World Bank, indicator SP.POP.TOTL, CC BY 4.0. Changes: used to compute nodes per million people.
- Country names and regions: Natural Earth (public domain).

- `versions-daily.csv` — Software versions, daily history: The ten most common node software versions each day.
